Clinical and Diagnostic Services (CDS)

The CDS is the secondary program of the Association.

The CDS provides, on an out-patient basis, mental health services to children, adolescents and adults who have emotional and behavioral problems and/or mental disorder.

 

1. Psychiatric Services


The Psychiatrists provide diagnostic assessment and evaluation as well as relevant intervention and management to mental health clients/consumers.

2. Psychological Services


 
A. ASSESSMENT

Comprehensive assessment and evaluation, using standardized and non-standardized measures, are provided to clients to help determine their cognitive potentials and emotional disposition. Assessment results can be used as basis for proper case management, educational placement or for making relevant vocational and/or employment decisions. 

 

B. INDIVIDUAL, FAMILY AND GROUP COUNSELING

The CDS provides counseling services aimed to help clients resolve personal, social or family issues so they can be capable of making relevant, realistic life/career choices and decisions. 

3. Family Care Services


 
A. CASEWORK

The CDS caseworkers conduct assessment of the client's psychosocial environment and provide through monitoring and case management of the spcific concerns of the mental health consumers. 

B. GROUP WORK

Group sessions are conducted by the CDS caseworkers on a weekly basis to provide a venue for mental health consumers and their family members to discuss specific concerns related to their condition. 


C. FAMILY SUPPORT GROUP

The CDS established a Family Support Group (FSG) composed of caregivers and family members of the mental health consumers. The FSG sessions provide opportunities for caregivers to learn better ways of taking care of mental health consumers through sharing their concerns with one another and listening to lectures conducted by psychiatrists, psychologists and other mental health professionals.

 4. Other Services:

A. INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The CDS has field placement programs for Social Work and Psychology students to provide them training and exposure to the clinical field/practice.

B. CONTINUING MENTAL HEALTH EDUCATION PROGRAM

Lectures and learning sessions are periodically conducted by the CDS technical staff to family members as well as partner agencies, professionals and institutions to promote mental health and educate them about effective ways of handling and dealing with mental health consumers.
